Leading Juvenile Court judge candidate Richard Exnicios has picked up two more significant endorsements this week and won a straw poll of area lawyers.

On Tuesday, the Forum for Equality endorsed Exnicios for Juvenile Court judge.  Last night, the Greater New Orleans Republicans (GNOR) endorsed his candidacy.  And in a straw poll released earlier this week, 63 percent of the New Orleans Bar Association supported Exnicios; his closest competitor garnered only 22 percent in the same poll.

Exnicios is also endorsed by former District Attorney Harry Connick, former Lt. Gov. Jimmy Fitzmorris, former Registrar of Conveyances Gasper Schiro, and School Board Members Woody Koppel, Seth Bloom and Brett Bonin.

“The support we’ve picked up this week speaks both to my qualifications and to my ability to reach across political and personal differences to get the job done,” Exnicios said.  “We are building even more momentum going into the last four weeks before the primary, and we are very encouraged by the reception we are receiving everywhere in the city.  From Uptown to Lakeview to Treme, people are ready for responsible, ethical, conscientious judges, and they are embracing what I am offering to bring to the bench.”
