Palm Desert, CA – Leading up to his address at the United Nations General Assembly, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad spoke at a breakfast meeting yesterday morning in New York City with members of the press. The hostile leader of Iran discussed the Country’s nuclear capabilities and threatened war if the United States or Israel attacked any of their nuclear facilities. While most Americans believe strong foreign policy is the key to controlling aggressive dictators like President Ahmadinejad, liberals like Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet and President Barack Obama want to engage in diplomacy, dialogue, and appeasement. Firefighters from St. Tammany Parish Fire Protection District 12 took less than 15 minutes to contain and control a trailer fire in the Tammany Hills area south of Covington last night.
At 7:57 p.m., FD12 units were dispatched to 21014 Lincoln Street after a resident called to report the fire. Homeowner Terry Hutcherson was charging the battery on his 32-foot travel trailer when he noticed flames inside the trailer and called 911.
