Palm Desert, CA — Today, the Mary Bono Mack Campaign released an Internet ad entitled, “Bus Tour,” which highlights Steve Pougnet’s failed leadership as the Mayor of Palm Springs. Since being elected as Mayor in 2007, unemployment in Palm Springs has skyrocketed, law enforcement officials have been fired, and local businesses, restaurants, and the City jail have been forced to close. Fire District 12 personnel this morning extricated an adult woman and a child from an overturned vehicle on Highway 25 north of Covington.
At 7:58 a.m., 911 operators received a call of an overturned vehicle in the woods off Hwy. 25 near the Ramsey Grill. Responding units discovered the vehicle overturned, with the adult female and a 4-year-old child trapped inside. Another child, age 3, had crawled from the wreckage.

The St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation was honored with three awards for its entries in the Southern Economic Development Council’s annual Communications Awards. The awards were presented and the winning entries were on display at the Southern Economic Development Council’s (SEDC) Annual Conference held August 14-17, 2010 in New Orleans, at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel.
